Historically, the market cap has been between .5 to 1 time GDP. I think that those historical metrics must be changed because a greater proportion of GDP is now represented in the markets, so I would use the range of .75 to 1.5 (the low at depth of bear markets the high at tops of bulls.). I think that we are still above 1.00, GDP being around $9.5 trillions.
