You mean that AMD will be feared and respected and will grow in power until they eventually throw the reigning ruler down a reactor shaft? Wow, you are like soooo in tune with the AMD fans on this thread! ;O
No, wait, seriously ... I think you're on the wrong foot with this. I mean, your earlier comments on Palomino and soforth are right on the money, but you're jumping the line on this one. AMD is pursuing legal action against Alcatel, because Alcatel is [allegedly] pursuing illegal action against AMD. Two companies made a binding agreement, one of them (hint: not AMD) broke that agreement. This isn't like Rambus where the company is on uncertain footing with their claims (I'm not stating that they're wrong, though, just that their claims are unproven). This is a company which has solidly on paper, with lots of signatures, a contract that was broken by the other side. I personally cannot see how anybody could see AMD as a villain in this matter, unless you're suggesting that written contracts should not, as a general rule, be binding to both sides.
