OT: depends on the definition of a vote (chad problem). If they used the Texas definition Gore would likely have won. And if the GOP was so confident why do everything in their power to stop the recounts? I read the article too. And it's not definitive. Don't know who "really" won. with the chad debate no one ever will. Just a matter of opinion on "what is a vote?"

I just hope America can survive 4 years of Bush. So far we're falling off a cliff with no inspirational leadership at all. And the rest of the world has little respect for or understanding of Bush. Every time he speaks he seems less convincing in what he says and the market tanks again. Very scripted, mired in old ways of thinking and afraid to take questions. On policy, little by little Bush is being forced to compromised on everything as "adults" give him the news that his views are unpopular and unrealistic. He basically does what Karen Hughes (whose twice as smart as he is but very strident) tells him to so maybe she's realizing he/she can't be a dictator and that he's lucky to be in so he'd better be careful and learn as much as he can as fast as he can. Bush recovered impressively from alcoholism and business failures. Let's hope for the good of the country he grows into his new job and ends up being the leader we need.
