hi john

of the many things i've learned here, one is that not everyone is cut out for the patient and confident approach. <g3>

try as one might, there is always the guy or gal who has had enough. (witness qu168 a couple days ago smashing the compaq armada.) and for these folks, the patient and confident method just doesn't seem to be a fit.

there is a way and a time for everyone. i've learned that in some cases, offering all of my energies and resources to help someone fix their puter isn't always matched stride for stride by the person with the prob. and in those instances, i've come to learn, those folks are probably better off buying new or paying to have the machine fixed.

and so i definitely agree with you that "there is a solution to everything". it's just that sometimes that solution has little to do with patience and confidence and more to do with the wallet and a repair shop.

and when you think about it, there is an inherent wisdom in knowing when to turn a problem over to a professional.

fwiw...

:)
