SYSTEM INTEGRATORS AND DEALERS have received details of new pricing on Athlons from AMD. The cuts will take time to filter through the buying chain.
The cuts, which take effect today, will put further pressure on Chipzilla, yet again. AMD has kept the prices of its Duron parts stable - it launched the 900MHz Duron Monday.
The Athlon T'Bird 750 has dropped to $95, the 850 to $110, the 900 to $125, the 950 to $143, the 1GHz T'bird to $150, the 1100 to $170, the 1133 to $170 (goodbye 1100), the 1200 to $200 (266 as well), the 1300 to $220, 266MHz as well.
The boxed versions of these processors also drop in price.
And while we're on the subject of AMD, let us point you in the direction of this page, kindly supplied by a reader. (http://www-public.tu-bs.de:8080/~y0005007/)
