Quite a good rant, actually. We really are of the same generation and similar experiences, except that I never fit into the cool crowd the way you did. (I grew up in one of the few intentionally interracial communities in Pennsylvania; my playmates included blacks, jews, Chinese, German immigrants, and a host of others, and none of us kids had any realization that this was anything other than totally normal.)

Political parties suck. The political left is too into groupism. The political right is too fat,
dumb, and happy. Sad.

Too true, though I would also add that both groups are majorly into intolerance, just with different objects of their intolerance.

But what do we do about it?
