Hi CB and jla too....haven't looked yet myself, but wondered if you have a link for our "forward bases" all over the world...?? It will be interesting to compare the number of bases in 1990 versus the number today....

Also, from seeing the picture of the plane...one wonders a couple of things: 1) Was the nose cone taken off by the Chinese? or
2) Was it broken off by the Chinese fighter?
3) Either way, the pilot must certainly be deserving of a medal by being able to land the plane as it was in poor condition. And if they flew for a half an hour or so before landing, it would have been even harder to land, I would think.

On the radio this AM on the way to the office, they were talking to a former pilot of one of these planes....among other things, that he "could" say, was that the planes at best are not easy to fly and are "wobbly"....let alone one that was in that shape.
