Well, listening to the conference call replay, it's starting to make a bit more sense. FreeBSD has 2 million users (not as many as Linux, but not bad). It has a license which is not GPL (Linux is GPL. Three reasons stated by Jerry Fiddler: o great technology (BSD underpins most commercial Unices) o great open-source community o Intellectual Property. Customers can build applications without fear of losing control of their IP. This is actually a very important issue, and may well make it a better acquisition than a Linux deriviative because of this. Time will tell, I guess. P.
