t4. We have similar thoughts on those issues. Don't know if you've seen it, but Harry Schultz old book: "Panics & Crashes, and How You Can Make Money Out Of Them" has good summations of the 18th and 19th century crisis'. Includes the South Sea Bubble and John Law and The Mississippi Company. Both were giant fiascos in the early 18th Cen. Also briefly covers all the important financial panics in this country in the 19th and most of the 20th Centuries as well as a good synopsis of the German hyperinflation in the early 1920s. Don't know if it's in print anymore. My copy is the 1972, 3rd edition. And you know what? Might just dust it off and read it again(g) Isopatch
