More fertilizer from the new economy thread "Business is still growing. Look at the revenue gains y/y in Ariba for example. A "disaster" preannouncement of 125% revenue growth!"

ARBA holds the distinction for being down this year more than any other stock with a market cap over $1B on both the Naz or the NYSE. ARBA is not only going to post a loss, their sales are forecast to drop by 50% this quarter. Their competitive position borders on hopeless as the market no longer values their core competence in exchange software. Doubts are being expressed about their ability to survive as a stand-alone company -- they face basic issues of existence and viability. Demand for some of their core products has fallen to zero -- zero! Their core market is going downhill fast -- not just because of the general market weakness, but specifically because the demand for their software is cooling off dramatically and is not looking like it will ever be hot again. ARBA received, by one count on this thread, 20 downgrades this week. After their last earnings report they received something like 16 downgrades -- another "buying opportunity". But this guy is over there beating his chest about how great ARBA is doing and about how smart he is to have bought ARBA near the top of the market then and held onto it -- even though it is down 97% in price. He claims to be the only guy around who understands the stock -- although he has never said a single word ever about ARBA's supposed "fundamentals". The only conclusion I can reach is this guy is a total phony -- a complete and total phony. He is over there, holding a stock that is now virtually worthless (no pun intended), with prospects so dim that it is setting world's records for "most pathetic stock" out of the thousands that trade in the US, and he is praising himself for his intelligence as a stock picker, not just in general, but specifically for being in this stock -- "for the long term". In another post he says you only lose if you are forced to sell. You gotta laugh HJ -- the guy is so phony, so full of himself -- you gotta laugh. It is not nice to laugh -- but what else can you do?
