I will go get the latest version of Satan and test my machine and upgrade where needed.

Satan is rather ancient, I have read that nessus (nessus.org) is currently the scanner to beat. I haven't tried it yet but I do a fair bit of reading on the subject of internet security.

wuFTP has been notorious for security vulnerabilities. Finger and talk are a bit unusual to be found running (does anybody actually use these any more)? Sendmail I'm not too sure about, and its history has been at least as colorful as wuFTP.

And don't forget about verifying / maintaining binary integrity checks using MD5 sum / tripwire!
