E1--- I can relate to mining.....When you get a company like FCX, with a projected growth rate like a tech stock, and a gold "kicker", I can generate all kinds of enthusiasm.
When I want to talk about mining, however, I run into those same folks that you found on Yahoo -- who have some great mission in life completely unrelated to making a couple of bucks in the market. In fact, you are one of the few knowledgeable -- and especially successful gold investors I've run into...... and I remain amazed.<g> Meanwhile, I've found I can make a decent living in the market, just bumbling along, buying when things look a little too cheap, and selling when things look a bit expensive ......AND paying lots of attention to some of those folks who are smarter than me --- not ALL of them, you understand -- there are too many...
I don't recall who was first out the door with "lack of visibility".... But CSCO comes to mind as one of the pack that did the market no good.
