Hi!!

RE:
My thanks to MSD & Company for giving the Street some guidance that seems to have given some general clarity to the overall tech economic outlook.

The spin is amazing when these other "experts" predict where DELL's going ...What a joke!!!! Other than Mike Kwatinetz I have never heard one of them discuss the long term aspects of this company..."predicting" quarter to quarter and when the facts are out is as elementary as Dick and Jane...Only Mike has been bold enough to mention: "If all the others are trying to emulate DELL imagine where DELL will be in five years?"....If anyone just followed the vision of MSD they'd know that the end is near for the others...He is just so shy of stating the reality...DELL's model can't be beaten and he has proven it since the company began...Sure they've tripped up here and there but the focus has always been on providing the consumer with the finest service and product...Nothing has changed at DELL that hasn't been to actually put more distance between them and their competition...Geez, didn't anyone read about his Jan.2000 message to all his employees? The squeeze for frictionless efficiency was his prediction of this current pricing environment to put the others out of business...As DELL's partnering ventures of the past two years begin to solidify watch the win/loss ratio skyrocket...Let's face it: Why is DELL #1 in the USA and UK? The other areas are just a few years behind...
When reviewing the statements of the past I'm constantly reminding myself of his prophetic words and how they are always so conservative in tone...Frankly, the market that is out there is just beginning to show for them...Just listen to Jim Vanderslice and Mike Lambert today! No question why Jim was lured away from IBM and as his daughter said: "he's rejuvenated"...Listen closely...

How is this for a statement? A close friend of mine that works there sent this to me a long time ago:

"Can you tell me of anytime in history that DELL decided to make a strategic move and they failed to not become the number one or two player in that market?" "Now,if you take the expected revenue in the internet infrastructure market and assume that DELL could possibly get just 10% of that market what would that mean for revenues in addition to taking the approach that IBM and CPQ do of selling everything from nuts and bolts to these accounts-quite a story."

BTW, that "market" is over $1 Trillion by 2003..And, frankly don't you think DELL's model is still being underestimated by my friend? :o) Listen closely to that meeting again...It's worth it...

Make you dream huh? :o)

Best, Kemble
