OK, maybe, maybe some minor mistakes were made, although I think JLA made a good case that even that is not the case. Let's consider alternatives. (1) abjectly apologize, agree to stop all reconnaissance flights, even in international airspace (such as this one was) (2) send in a military force to rescue them (3) offer to trade the populations of Beijing, Shanghai, and Canton for the 24 airmen- -via nukes (4) break relations, cut off trade, scuttle their Olympic bid and back to Cold War status for them My favorite is (3); what's yours?
