Who does Corel think it's kidding. Their original Office for Java
was almost a direct port. Huge modules made the applications unwieldly, feature-poor and prone to crash. Everything was sacrificed
to be the first out the door. The number one dictum of Java was
ignored: large programs must be made up of hundreds of small, quickly-loadable modules, with only the in-use modules in memory at any one time.

Now a complete rewrite, involving new skills and a change if programming philosophy is necessary. The release date may be in October, but not in 1997.

Corel's behavior is reprehensible. Each week we are expected to believe yet another pie-in-the-sky announcement designed to hype the stock price.

I have said it before: Corel should stick to what it knows.
