Internet Shopping Network Signs Exclusive Download Agreement WithOnline Interactive; Two Leading Electronic Commerce Firms Join Forcesto Distribute Software OnlineSEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 1, 1996--
Two of the leading electronic commerce firms, Internet Shopping Network Inc. (ISN) and Online Interactive Inc. (OLI) announced today a joint initiative to expand the sale and download delivery of software on the Internet.

Under the terms of the two-year exclusive agreement, OLI will provide over 1,000 downloadable software titles for ISN to market to its over 100,000 registered members.

The goal of OLI and ISN is to bring together, in one virtual shop, over 1,000 downloadable software products that cover both special interests and broader business applications, which will make it the largest download software store on the Internet.

OLI has already established its atOnce Software stores on the Microsoft Network and America Online, and will launch its third electronic store on CompuServe later this month. ISN has been selling computer hardware and software to its online membership shopping program on the Internet since the Spring of 1994.

"We are pleased to join forces with Online Interactive to provideour online customers with the largest selection of downloadable software available today," commented Bill Rollinson, Vice President of Marketing for Internet Shopping Network.

He added, "Online Interactive is the leader in download distribution of software and they also represent a large number of prominent software publishers. This is a natural partnership that will make both companies more efficient in the direct delivery of software over the Internet."

"This is really good news for all the software publishers we represent," stated John Ballantine, Executive Vice President of Online Interactive. "Not only does this expand the market for downloadable software but it also brings our publishers a major presence on the Internet."

This virtual software store will offer the largest selection of software products at the most competitive prices available. In addition, the store will carry a large number of specialized softwareprograms that can not be found in regular retail outlets such as Egghead or CompUSA.

Ballantine indicated that OLI currently holds license agreements with over 40 software publishers that together account for over 700 downloadable titles, and that OLI expects to sign new agreements withanother 35 publishers this summer.

The new ISN download store is projected to carry software programs that will initially be divided into four broad subject categories: games and entertainment, business and productivity, education, and screen savers. The menu selections will also include a new products section plus a listing and description of the top ten most popular programs.

The average price for a download software program in the ISN store will be about $20, but many of the products will sell for under$10.

The new download method of delivering software directly to the desktop computer is gaining in popularity among both software publishers and computer users.

The process eliminates the need for expensive packaging and duplication on the part of the publisher, plus OLI underwrites all download conversion and marketing costs. Consumers can select and download a software title to their hard drive in minutes without leaving their desk, with the right to return the program if the results are not satisfactory - 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Publishers who currently market their software products with ISN will be invited to participate in the new ISN/OLI marketing agreementand download store. OLI indicated that they would honor and maintainany previous agreement that follows the OLI business model, which is similar to the one currently employed by ISN.

"For smaller niche publishers who have avoided the retail channel, the OLI/atOnce download marketing program is an ideal answer," commented John Ballantine. "Its really a win-win deal for everyone and the new ISN download store will dramatically increase sales for all atOnce publishers."

The Internet Shopping Network, a division of the billion-dollar cable television retailer, The Home Shopping Network, was the first large-scale enterprise to embrace the Internet as a new medium for conducting commerce worldwide. Launched in June 1993, ISN today offers more than 35,000 computer products from companies such as Lotus, Symantec and Microsoft.

ISN's Internet address is isn.com. The company can also be reached by calling 800/677-SHOP.

Online Interactive Inc. is a leading developer of online shopping services that are available on every major commercial network as well as multiple sites on the Internet.

Through its atOnce Software and FreeShop Online stores, OLI offers online shoppers the ability to directly download over 700 business, entertainment and educational software titles as well as order free products and promotions from over 200 prominent advertisers.

The company is the only electronic commerce company to have distribution agreements and stores on every major commercial online service, including America Online Inc. (AOL), the Microsoft Network (MSN), Prodigy and CompuServe.
