Well the MB I ordered has same sound chip as this MB cluboverclocker.com cluboverclocker.com This is what they had to say about onboard sound chip cluboverclocker.com Even the on board audio is better than what we had anticipated. Although we do not condone on board audio, this motherboard makes up for it all the other areas. Most Gamers and Overclockers like to add their own sound card but the KA266-R's 4.1sound really packs a punch and should satisfy just about everyone. Heck, I have to admit it, I even tossed my SoundBlaster Live! sound card to the side and I'm now using the on board audio. ....-- Milo
