Please note that we did apologize for shooting down that Iranian airliner. And they did fail to acknowledge the challenge that was put out.

It doesn't bring them back, but neither does it excuse the reasons that the Vincennes was in the Persian Gulf in the first place... namely to protect US flagged ships from Iranian gunboats that were harassing shipping (an act of war).

But this continuing call from China's leadership for an apology just isn't going to cut it.

After all, why should we apologize? I don't see them apologizing for detaining that female professor as a spy and detaining her child who is a US citizen. Where's China's apology to us?

And besides... Wouldn't the US being forced to falsely admit that we're responsible, be tantamount to the Chinese government admitting that an unarmed multi-engined plane is a match for a nimble heavily armed Chinese fighter pilot?

Btw, now Bill O'Reilly is calling for a boycott on Chinese goods until the Chinese government falls and is replaced by a democracy. This is getting interesting. He pulls a lot of weight in the media now that he has surpassed Larry King's ratings on CNN. This boycott could build momentum and that would really screw the Chinese over.

Who will they sell all those "widgets" to?

Regards,

Ron
