My feeling is that the compression in volatility at the bottoms of bear markets is due to fundamental investors. Why is that? Momentum traders tend to provide positive feedback to the market, Explain. while fundamental types (which we haven't seen since 1987, likely), provide negative feedback. Why is that? Why 1987? I remember the year well. I remember it better than I remember '96. Do you remember '96?
