Hi Kerry, As I sit in our local library each week looking through Value Line I've many times contemplated what it would be like if this resource wasn't available. So much of what I do in stock D.D. is first based upon VL as a reference line that it would be sorely missed.

I have accumulated data since 1982 that I use for one of my market risk indexes and it is essentially not replaceable at this time anywhere on the net. I'd have to construct a huge database to accomplish what takes me a couple of minutes with the Index section each week!

When VL came out with their Mutual Fund analysis, I was surprised. MorningStar was already in our library. They lost one potential customer there by being late to the party. Recently I gave our library a gift of the "Expanded" stock edition. I am finding it heavily used by the other patrons. Good to see.

I read this article as a "disgruntled employee" story at first. Then wasn't sure of what to think about the "company reaction." I hope the resource doesn't diminish in quality and availability because of such things over time. Maybe it's just that being a market analyst or publisher of analysis is a hard job and not one that necessarily builds self-esteem during BEAR markets!!!

:-)

Best regards, Tom
