Habanero Resources has been advised by Production Specialties Company, of
Woodland, Calif., that a decision was made to total depth the well due to
significant gas shows in the mud logs. In order to protect the uphole gas
shows from excessive mud weight, the decision was made to run e-logs on the
Winters formation. The operator reports that it has discovered three
separate Winters reservoirs in the upper part of the Winters formation, and
it is currently preparing to case, test and flow the well. The company has
been advised that the well should be connected to sales within 30 days. The
operator and geologist are currently preparing a multiwell plan to develop
and test the undrilled portion of the Winters formation below the existing
discovery.
This discovery is within one mile of the single largest gas field in
California, the Rio Vista gas field that has produced over 3.5 trillion
cubic feet of gas to date. Other major gas fields in the area are Lindsey
Slough 299 billion cubic feet, Bunker 175 billion cubic feet, Maine Prairie
173 billion cubic feet, Millar Gas 160 billion cubic feet, River Island Gas
156 billion cubic feet, Kirby Hill Gas 54 billion cubic feet and Denverton
Creek 35 billion cubic feet.
