Dear Scumbria:

You have lost your deck a long time ago. Your repeated posting is just digging your own grave. Bush has an advantage here. The longer China holds out, the deeper in trouble they will get. If China does not let the crew go soon, they will start losing the very things they seem to want to have. They forget what happened to Iran who tried the hostage route. The loss of WTO, international standing, MFN, and later American trade and open hostility would hurt them far more in face. Their own citizens would not want to give up the good life for some silly posturing. They may even rise up like the Russians and throw the old geezers out of office and then under the prison.

Bipartisan rumblings are already being heard in Congress. The military is not too happy either. If the crews status changes to hostages, a quick rampup to all hell being let loose will occur. And we do not negotiate with hostage holders (even your buddies Bill and Al agree about that).

Pete
