Re: PGE filing bankruptcy. Very smart. I wonder why it took so long. This is exactly the message that needs to be communicated to both the producers and the government...
producers need to know that there is not a bottomless source of cash to pay for energy...some of those sources will dry up. Meantime, the government needs to understand that REALLY big businesses are getting hurt by all this. Finally (and, unfortunately, it's not happening yet), consumers need to get a clear price message: that for at least the next year or so, energy will cost A LOT more than in the past. (At least until supply and demand get back in balance.)

To survive this summer, we need REALLY BIG conservation. This will be accomplished in one of two ways: forced conservation (via blackouts) or voluntary conservation (via price hikes other inducements.) There's no other way!
