That's an excellent point and I haven't read ahead to see what responses you got. TradeStation resolves this to a great extent because there's no difference between the system test and a scan. Whatever you test becomes the trading system and you find trades each day by essentially running the system test up thru today's data. The only difference might be that you restrict the amount of data that you feed to the system test for the sake of gaining a little speed, i.e. instead of feeding it 500 bars of data, you might limit it to 80 or whatever.
