Yes, they should. If these news are true, I find them somewhat disturbing. If Hammer is indeed largely based on the K7 design and has no SSE2 support, AMD could be in deep troubles next year. But keep in mind that these comments are from a PR representative, which puts them somewhat in doubt IMO (on Comdex e.g. several PR persons stated that Palomino would have no performance enhancement at all). Usually they don't tell more than everyone already knows. OTOH most bad news on AMD this year turned out to be true later. And personally I doubt that we will see Clawhammer volume before Q3 2002 anyway.

I think' I'll mail Jan Gütter on Monday to see if I can get some more information on these issues.
