Well Jim(G). After I posted
>> THIS RALLY IS FOR REAL! << it emptied the pool. That's for sure.
No posts here for quite a spell after that one.
Can only imagine the pick-up in PM chattering amongst the chihuahuas scurrying around under the porch.
No doubt, I'll be bashed and flamed with a frenzy unmatched in the history of SI if the market doesn't rally further and take me out of my 4 recent positions with a profit(g).
Felt like having some fun last night. Being a little melodramatic and just seeing what the reaction was. The complete silence was pretty amusing.
As far as whether my call will be correct or not? Nobody can say for sure right now. But I guarantee a few of the same Mon morn quarterbacks showing up to either deny credit if I'm right or try to rub it in if I'm wrong, lol.
Look at it this way. I'd be concerned if I were JimP who's called 19 out of the last 2 ST market bottoms. Or Q, the chihuahua pin up girl who stands alone as the master of disaster. The greatest one man wrecking crew to his own net worth I've ever seen.(g)
And for those who bother to read my posts? Have said innumerable times - including one to Archimedes yesterday - mistakes are not only normal "they are part of the game". Only difference between the LT winners and losers is how often you make em and how big they are.
Maybe I'm due for a big, highly visible goof. It happens every few years. If so....then so be it.
Unlike SOME people, you and I both know, I'm secure enough to be wrong now and then, laugh at myself, get over it, and MOVE ON.
No doubt, the usual suspects will put in their usual hit and run appearance in an attempt to escape facing their far worse track records. They can waste their time doing that if they wish. It doesn't mattter. (BTW, in case it matters to you, I don't consider you among that group).
As far as your trading decisions are concerned? As you and I discussed a few times last year, your average holding period for trades is a good deal shorter than mine. So pulling the rip cord on your 401k seems, to me, quite consistent and prudent in the context of your trading plan.
My preferred holding period is not ST, it's Intermediate Term. My view is we're putting in an Intermediate bottom. If I'm wrong and too early with beginning my buying at this juncture then I could get stopped out if the market melts down. In that case I simply admit I'm wrong, and watch the "Charge of the Light Brigade" straight at Iso's ankles, lol.
Never a dull moment around here. I should be a hoot no matter what happens. At 65% cash, right now, am not vulnerable to getting nailed by any stretch of the imagination.
How much cash are you holding right now?
Cheers,
