It means we have a big trade deal with China on the horizon which has enormous implications for US business. And it is going to go down the drain of China and the US don't work out their differences on Taiwan -- which is after all, what the current problem is all about. After June 4th, Congress will be presented with the decision of whether or not to renew MFN for China while awaiting the WTO deal. If things don't improve soon, we will have a big problem. BTW, did you know that Walmart imports 2% of China's GNP? If things get better in the next few days, that will be billed as "good news" and US companies will be promoting the hell out of that news -- US companies want the China WTO deal more than even the Chinese themselves want it.
