I don't know what would it take for Hammer speculations to end. AMD has made the x86-64 spec public long time ago. K8 _has_ SSE2. Read the spec or go to the x86-64.org website and download gcc generating x86-64 instructions including SSE2 or download and build an x86-64 Linux kernel for that matter.
