Kris - There is often a significant chasm between reality and what the media reports. An article published by the venerable Barrons about SGI a month or so back was even loaded with unmistakable errors and half-truths. Buy hey, it helps them sell more newspapers and makes for interesting reading why should facts matter?

I didn't read the IBD article so I can't comment exactly on what it said. The media has drawn all of these comparisons between Apple and SGI which is ludicrous IMO. REMEMBER SGI NEVER LOST MONEY PRO FORMA DURING THIS ENTIRE REENGINEERING PROCESS! I fail to see a meaningful factual similarity that the pundits often draw between the two.

As far as earnings go, I've heard nothing bad about sales of the new products. The price comparisions against the competitors look good and there have been several reports in the past 6-8 weeks that demand is not a problem. Although SGI could have handled their preannouncements better I don't recall when they have cooked the books to show better than actual earnings.

Regards
Jeff
