Strangely enough, I have no arguments with what you say in this post, not because I am running out of time, but because you are mostly correct. There are no excuses necessary in statecraft. It simply "just is ...", and so the two clans eye each other, each knowing what the other was all about, and each fearful of what the future holds.

My bet is that the world will not come to an end, because, after equalization, the equation and calculus of statecraft changes, and folks mindset make a easy transition and accomodation.

In the mean time, gold is good, as it has no friends, no enemies, recognized the world over, fungible, fondlable, and shiny to look at.
