J.P. If you are independent contractor then your days will be over soon and you will be one of those layoffs. Dynamics of computer consulting has changed with ready available of resources from india. I can almost bet cyber quarter that intc will not be able to meet projections and will not have rosy forecast for the future, amd is giving real competition. Also, intc has been cooking books for long by using investement from dot.com to jack up EPS, now dotcom is dirtcom, intc has serious problem. Same with GE, it cannot have growth in this layoff & wages reduction environment, most of the households have lots of stuff. Your days of independent contractor may be over soon then you can imagine, good luck.
