Tony, by the tone of your post it sounds like you've been fired from your job, sorry to hear that.

I've managed to stay profitably employed for the last 15 years. And I expect to for the next 15 also....

Now as for the threat of Indian consultants. Yes, I've always worked with many excellent Indian employees. However, just between you and I, many companies are reluctant to take them on as consultants for more leadership roles because of lack of communication skills in the U.S. (don't tell me about all the Indian CEO's, I know, I'm talking about average immigrant consultants) Based on my experience, I'm not threatened. As to outsourcing application code development to India, I've seen it tried and it's never worked.

As far as Intel, cooking the books or not, they are a company that makes billions (yes, with a "B") of dollars in profit. Yes, virginia, PC's are cyclical too and we're in the trough of a cycle. People and companies will buy replacement PC's again and Intel will profit. INTC, DELL et al can't post the growth numbers they once did because they're working off such a large base.
