Well you can take that a step further by saying there is nothing to forgive Clinton for (your example) because he certainly didn't rape either one of us. To be in a perpetual state of forgiveness you must be a perpetual victim. How an actual victim forgives someone is the sole right of the victim, not the perpetrator, not the observer.
