I think their expectations are a bit optimistic (to say the least).

Yahoo is a search engine .... period.

Anyone with a web site can sell advertising. I simply don't see why a company in such a low-tech venture with absolutely no barriers to entry is trading at a market cap of a billion dollars. If you think it's cheap at these levels - then be my guest (someone has to be buying my short sale). As far as your Microsoft comment is concerned - I don't see what a bad call by an analyst years ago has to do with Yahoo. In fact it seems to counter your argument about the validity of an opinion from a "major independent research firm".

I suggest doing your own research. I did...and I went short. My guess is that at current price levels, my risk level is near zero.
