Dave,

Since you live in the woods, you may not be aware of the tremendous waste of energy that goes on in cities. The vast majority of oil consumption used in Silicon Valley is single riders in cars stuck in traffic jams for hours a day.

No doubt we could reduce this consumption by 70% and reduce the time spent commuting simultaneously.

Why destroy wilderness looking for new oil when we are wasting the majority of our current production? The problem of wasted consumption should be addressed first.
