Thanks for the info. I saw the registration filing, but it looked like it was for a relatively small number of shares. I guess enough to offset the OKI contract, particularly if it was already in the price to some extent. People may have been expecting more. I'm not sold on VCSI particularly - just trying to understand the industry and the company.

Is the point that you are making re centralization (not covered by patent) is that it is more effective to do recognition at the CO than the phone? I'd think you are right re the range of capabilities that could be provided; however, local operations (i.e., those performed while not connected) might benefit from phone-based recognition for basic functions. I guess many of the typical local functions (e.g., dialing) COULD be performed in a centralized manner, but the question becomes one of how effectively/efficiently functions are done locally versus by the CO. Also, since most carriers don't make the equipment, phone-based recognition would seem to provide some "transparency" among equipment and carriers.
