Fred, thanks for reminding me that I made one good decision in the last year. Yes, CSCO was waiting for a fall. I never thought it would be this bad. When I sold CSCO, part of my ORCL and part of ELNT, I put the money in other stocks that were coming down. I bought WCOM last spring, don't own that now. But, I've got PMCS from $115, JDSU at $68 and $32, JNPR at $190, $133, and $56, still holding.
Today, I'm buying ELNT. CD-RW prices are being cut in 1/2 this Q.(they have to be lowering ASPs, but units should double this year). They have 80% of that market for laser drivers. They just announced line drivers for DSL modems, a new market for them. They should be growing this year, after downward revisions.
I'm buying OPWV, NOK and QCOM in the wireless space.
I'm not adding to networkers. JNPR announces earnings on Thursday, that should be interesting. The only way they can maintain est.s is to take more market share from CSCO. If they do, they are worth a lot more. |
