I had a few cow's that we had to lift. Used a hip lift on them. Rather brutal device when you think of the weight of the animal but you can't leave them lay. Might as well shoot them and get it over with if your going to do that. I did enough of my own vet work including IV'ing cows with milk fever that our vet would call me to go out every now and again if she couldn't get to our area. We were 78 miles from her and she covered quite an area. I owned and rode horses but didn't do much work with them. They can hurt you bad. Had to float the teeth I think it was called on my wifes Arabian. You know the big raspy file on the teeth thing and living through that is about the best that could be said:)
