kash,
it's awesome to see how people change their mind fast when the stock fall. So the 10 bucks drop of AMD's shares will affect their numbers?
When we were at 30 everything was fine and everyone was claiming it would have strong earnings. The *ONLY* reliable info we have is that AMD didn't warn, Via said sales were up because of socket A chipsets and that AMD isn't going to let custumers, that had bargain flash for the whole Y2K, screw them up and not accept the fundments of a long term contract. We have 1 GHz TBirds that easily do 1.33 GHz, we have Intel selling celerons at Durons prices and selling PIII at Athlons prices... and not selling any P4, or almost paying it's customers to try to.
SO? what is the thing to do? raise the frequency of the Athlon to a point Intel can't follow, and position Duron against PIII. As long as 1 GHz stay firmly over $100 what is wrong with flooding the market with 1.33... if you look at it, the more it gets close to 1 GHz, to more stable are the prices : what does-it tell you?
<philo> The problem is the bubble, the absurdity that made of a 45 P/E a standard, the stupids that continued to invest in 100 billions and over corporates (I'm not talking about traders, who are just trying to feel the market, I'm talking about people that puts billions in some flying basket, that actually flies because it flied; but it'll now fall because it's falling) </sophy?>
