David,
you raise some points worth discussing.

1) The conference call with "a physician of equal stature." Is there some reason that this physician should remain anonymous on this thread? And do you know if this call can be replayed? Did anyone else listen to this call?

2) The characterization of AGPH as a 1-drug company. I don't think many of us here believe that AGPH will be a long-term success based only on Viracept. It is also true that there are many unknowns and any number of drugs could (probably will, eventually) be discovered that would make Viracept obsolete. I don't buy your timetable for this occurrence, but you never know. Still, revenues from Viracept will help to fund the development of:

AG337 Thymidylate Synthase (TS) inhibitor for Cancer (Solid Tumors)
AG2034 GART enzyme inhibitor for Cancer
AG3340 Matrix metalloprotease (MMP) inhibitor for Cancer and Arthritis
Rhinovirus 3C protease inhibitor for Respiratory Infections (Common Cold)
Herpes simplex virus-1 protease inhibitor
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) protease inhibitor
Hepatitis C protease inhibitor
AICART inhibitor for Cancer and Inflammation
cdk4 inhibitor for Cancer
VEGF receptor inhibitor for Cancer

etc.

This is not a 1-drug company for long.

3) As far as drugs being a "flop," and you being "fortunate that people in the biotech industry trust you and tell you things" (my paraphrase), this info I must categorize as unsubstantiated rumor from a suspect source.

4) Can anyone else comment on the use of various assays for HIV detection?
