Dave,

I have no doubt that you are very competent in your field and I am very surely not competent in it, but I think you missed one of Jozef's main points which was...

"Intel can counter anything AMD says by a campaign 10 times..."

So do you think that if your proposed AMD marketing campaign is even mildly successful at increasing their sales and market share Intel will just stand by and watch it happen? I rather think that Intel would counter with an ad campaign of their own and I don't think that they would say "our processor isn't quite as good but please buy it anyway", they would come up with a way to make it sound like the best.

So if for every commercial that a consumer sees that states that AMD processors are the best he sees ten others (most likely during prime time) that say that Intel processors are the best then what effect do you think that would have on AMD?

I think that it is best for AMD to allow a quiet unspoken consumer appreciation for their products to develop and spread by word of mouth (which I do think is happening) because the alternative would be like provoking a shouting match with a guy holding a bullhorn.

I am curious to know how you would propose that AMD could counteract such an advertising flood from Intel that a war of words would provoke?

Regards,

Epinephrine
