Huh???? That's quite a stretch. "Let's throw away the plain meaning, it's inconvenient, and invent a totally new one which fits with the actual (but unpredicted) facts". THAT's what that sounds like. "as that the day of Christ is at hand" That sure doesn't read to me what you claim to see in it. I should have known not to get into this with one of you fanatics; you're worse than lawyers.
