I saw interesting features in Barron's on line yestereday, one
on the Alberta exchange ("son of Vancouver") and an interview with
a geologist with Robertson Stephens on Canadian mining jrs.
Robertson finances and invests in VSE-listed co--only upon field
investigation including visual inspection of core samples etc according to the article. Companies they consider for real include, guess who?
DiamondWorks, also by the way First Dynasty Mines, Armada Gold,
Vengold, Farallon, Etruscan Enterprises and Sutton Resources.

By the way I see nothing wrong with DMW's security apparatus.
Saw recent news that they used their security assets to airlift
many people out of their mining area in Sierra Leone. Not to have credible
security would endanger lives of their own employees let alone
not be in shareholder interest. If STS ever gets on their feet again they had better have some security people who have seen
combat, pretty much regardless of previous circumstances. African
countries are not likely to turn into Costa Ricas overnite.
One may say the Democratic Republic is safe but just look at
Congo Brazzaville now, which just a few weeks ago was a staging
area for evacuation from Zaire and now people are fleeing for
their lives across the river. As long as local authorities
stand to make lots of money one can say you may be relatively safe but a strong deterrent is good insurance. I couldnt care
less if they are South African mercenaries or the French Foreign
legion or Brinks. A hired gun is a hired gun
