BUY DRAM shares Nanya Technology (2408 TT), Powerchip (5346 TT), Winbond (2388 TT), and IC packaging company ASE (2311 TT). Some Taiwan IC companies began to show positive mom sales growth in March, as DRAM shares posted more satisfactory results. DRAM maker Nanya Technology posted NT$1.32bn sales, up 44.0% mom and 63.7% yoy. DRAM maker Powerchip posted NT$1.47bn sales, up 20.9% mom and 98.6% yoy. DRAM maker Winbond posted NT$2.37bn sales, up 6.39% mom, but down 25.9% yoy. Chipmaker Vanguard Int'l (5347 TT) posted NT$1.01bn sales, down 19.1% mom and 24.5% yoy. Vanguard is suffering from a loss of orders in its IC foundry business. Non-volatile memory maker Macronix (2337 TT) posted NT$1.88bn sales, down 23.6% mom but up 3.3% yoy. This company admitted that orders came in less than expected for the first time. IC packaging company ASE posted NT$2.04bn sales, up 14% mom and 2% yoy.
