Don't you imagine there is some scrambling right as we speak from the American manufacturers, and seeking alternative sources? This whole MESS must surely be opening eyes around the United States... As for export tariffs, remember that many Chinese parts are used as subcomponents to higher valued US equipment assembled here. So you don't want to hurt US manufacturers until they can develop replacement suppliers
