Brief Seymour Comment on the Motorla/Palm Phone/PDA:

At Motorola, Expect Sleight of Handheld

thestreet.com

"...One thing I believe Motorola may use as a picker-upper on Wednesday morning is its Accompli 008 handset, which has been on sale abroad but wasn't supposed to be discussed in the U.S. -- until, that is, Motorola accidentally posted a press release about the device on its Web site Friday.

Backing and filling after the mistake, Motorola acknowledged that the phone, Motorola's entry in the "phone plus PDA" convergence market, is still searching for a wireless vendor or two in the U.S. to bring it to market. The phone runs only on a global system for mobile communications connections, which surely shortens the list of potential wireless suitors.

(And Palm fans, please note that despite Motorola's talk about -- I hesitate to say "commitment to" -- bringing out a phone/PDA using the Palm OS, this is not that device. The Accompli 008 uses a Motorola-developed operating system.)..."
