mkc, agreed. however, this is a battle of epic proportions for the chinese - perhaps a national identity on the world scene (at least from the govt point of view). the nationalistic ferver of a "win" here would be immense and a "loss" would hurt their nationalistic psychie. bush is going to play "hawk." tough guy. i don't see either side backing down.
