Mary, I agree with you. This rebate is a key part of Iomega's strategy and it will do more good in the long run than harm. With Iomega's rebate it is signaling that any company that wants to enter the market and compete on price can come on down. Iomega is raising the barriers to entering this market. Who knows, Iomega may or may not lower its Zip price this Xmas to $99. Any company who is thinking about whether Iomega can actually make a profit at $99 will take this rebate as a sign that Iomega can and will lower their price if need be. So now the competition has to look and see if they can offer a better product and gain market share. I don't think so. Once again Iomega proves it has an incredible management team.
