AMD plans to move from Socket-A to an integrated NB and HT with Hammer beginning in less than a year

Dale, are you sure about this? I've been looking for new HT/LDT info, and it's pretty sparse. Very vague references about the system bus, such as:

With its peak data transfer rate of 6.4GBps, HyperTransport
Technology will be integrated into AMD's next-generation
processors, Mitchell said.

"[HyperTransport Technology] will arrive in the chip sets that support Athlon later
this year," Mitchell said. "But it doesn't change Athlon's socket, it only adds
throughput."

The added throughput will significantly increase Athlon's bus speed past its current
average of 200MHz, but Mitchell refused to offer an exact figure.

HyperTransport Technology will be available to support future AMD processors as
well, including the company's 64-bit x86 chip, code-named SledgeHammer, which is
slated to begin shipping early next year.

The canonical MP picture still seems to be this oft-recycled one, linux.ing.uniroma1.it , a slide from linux.ing.uniroma1.it . I found an old ref about an integrated north bridge on the hammers, but nothing particularly current. All very murky.
