Leo, I don't use NVI for daily trading either. But I use it in a quite different way than you do.

I don't look for divergences. I don't look at peaks and troughs. I use it as a screening tool - if I see rising NVI with rising price over a priod of time (say, 6 months), then the stock is a "candidate". I then use other tools to determine entry and exit points.

Yes, the NVI says nothing about IOM at this point.
